Hot Spots and living out in the cold

It's been a LONG time since I've been in a productive experience state

By that a mean when I've been in a team where it just feels that everything is in "flow", that we can solve any problem thrown at us and that it's just an enormous amount of fun to rock up to work everyday. A hot spot you might say

In fact. The more I think of it.... There were no problems, it was just an enormous amount of creativity and fun. I loved it. Happiest days of my working life

This leads me to two thoughts:

  1. Wouldn't it be amazing to get into that kind of position again
  2. Why has it taken me so long to actually sit down and realise it's so cold now!!
I think it's a boiling the frog effect in reverse. Slowly getting used to the water temperature plummeting as you move from that "hot spot" into the "arctic of the daily grind" allows you to habituate. Without instant negative feedback you can go further and further out into the cold until you're approaching 0Kelvin

Time to start my analysis. I have some fires to light
